I paint what I admire and
what excites me visually. I love the challenge of translating into paint.
It's not about capturing a scene with complete accuracy. For me the real
excitement builds once the imagination takes over and the paint begins to
work for me. I love the feel of paint.

"Mary Davidson's oils have
a lightness of touch often found only in drawing. Whether painting still
life or landscape, she has a real connection to nature and the ability to
lure her viewer into the moment. Her work is held in numerous private and
public collections, including Vanity Fair in New York." HOMES &

"Mary
Davidson's paintings are a must for anyone who appreciates the skill of an
artist enthralled by paint. Personally I could stare at them for hours.
Whether it's flowers, fruit, or boats at Catterline, Mary pushes and moulds
her subjects as if they had been snatched suddenly from urbane reality and
brought to a new, more interesting life, full of sensual colour and dramatic
tones." ABERDEEN PRESS & JOURNAL
